Kids on Point
The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped normalcy for everyone. In this new world, the first priority for Kids On Point was making sure all of our students and families are safe, healthy, and have their needs met.
With an understanding of how our students and families were doing and what their needs were, Kids On Point is took the following steps for support and programming.
Responding Individually
The Kids On Point experience is grounded in the intensity and longevity of our relationships. Our first response was to connect individually with each student and family to learn about their new realities and to reiterate our care for them.
Enhancing Access
Our second response was to help students and families connect with resources for food, remote learning, internet services, technology access, health and wellness, supplies, unemployment support, fitness and recreation, and educational resources.
Our Services and Programs included:

Kids On Point is focused on overcoming and removing barriers to educational and economic success that underserved youth face. We continue to work closely with teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and school administration to ensure our kids are on track. On October 5, 2020, we welcomed our students and families back to in-person programming. After 6-months of virtual programming, we realized that students and families needed to be back on-site. This week, we marked 5 months of successful in person programming and we are planning to launch an extensive summer effort to combat the impacts of COVID-19 learning loss.
We would like to thank the IECA Foundation for your ongoing support. You and your team embraced the challenges of COVID-19 and thought of a new and innovative approach to connect with the nonprofits you support. With your help, we were able to launch virtual programming, provide needed essentials, implement our 2020 Camp in the Bag, and ultimately, welcome the kids back for in-person programming. We are grateful for your support and dedication.
