Dear Friends of the IECA Foundation,
It’s hard to believe we’ve closed the door on yet another incredible year at the IECA Foundation. 2019 was a whirlwind year, from interacting with many of you at the IECA Conference in Chicago to getting down on the dance floor at our annual fundraising event in Atlanta, to countless hours spent working to improve the lives of the students we serve. 2019 was about striving to build on what we’ve worked so hard to achieve - to provide students with access to, and opportunities in, education. Thanks to you, the Foundation was able to award $93,000 in grants, funding 25 programs for underserved children throughout the country.
I am delighted to take on the role of Board Chair this year and to use my experience as an educational consultant, past school administrator, and former Admissions Director to build on the success of the Foundation. I am taking over this role from my esteemed colleague Luisa Rabe, who has selflessly dedicated her time and efforts to increase our visibility and streamline our processes to help us move to the next phase of our mission. Because of Luisa’s passion and commitment to our cause, 2019 was a year to remember.
Last year was our third year awarding micro-grants to deserving organizations where IECA members volunteer. We were able to fund 5 programs that are particularly close to your hearts, and we will continue this tradition in 2020. Along with micro-grants, we awarded full grants to 20 outstanding organizations throughout the country, fulfilling immediate educational and therapeutic programming needs.
2019 was an exciting year of progress and success, yet there is much more to come in 2020 and beyond. We can’t wait to share the success stories of the programs that are directly impacted by your incredible generosity and support. Thanks to you, the Foundation was able to have an amazing impact on our most vulnerable populations. Your continued support will help us achieve our goals for years to come!
2020 Board Chair, IECA Foundation
