Dear IECA Foundation friends and supporters,
It is with great excitement that I take on the role of Board Chair for the IECA Foundation. Please join me in applauding outgoing Board Chair Robin Abedon, who so ably served the Foundation and its mission.
Thanks to you, 2017 was an exciting year for our organization. We hosted a successful fundraiser at the IECA Conference in Washington, DC, where we laughed the night away with the celebrated comedy troupe, the Capitol Steps. Most importantly, with the support of generous event sponsors and annual fund donors, we were able to fund 31 grant requests totaling $77,500, spanning 19 states and serving over a thousand children! These organizations are truly making a difference in the lives of youth across the country. We are currently reviewing grant proposals for the current year and look forward to announcing the worthy causes we will be assisting.
In the past few months, we have also made significant progress professionalizing the Foundation and creating efficiencies in its operations to better serve our mission. I am pleased to announce the Foundation’s partnership with Schultz & Williams (S&W), a national consulting firm with expertise in nonprofits of all sectors and sizes. We welcome S&W consultant Karly Forman to the Foundation team as Program Director. She will be the main point of contact for the organization moving forward. Should you need anything, please reach out to her at [email protected]. I know she is eager to meet you.
The IECA Foundation’s mission is to leverage the knowledge, professional skills, and funds of IECA members, sponsors, and donors so that underserved students can map pathways to success. We do this important work with you and are ever-grateful for your generosity.
2018 Board Chair
